The 60% of the population of city El Beni, Bolivia lives in the area Riberalta.
The rate of juvenile delinquency is extremely increasing but the city El Beni doesn't have any confinement facility for adolescent offenders.
Adolescent offenders in the area Riberalta where has the greatest young adult population, are put in the jail with adult criminals. That make them to be pre-adult-criminals when they released from prison. Moreover at the jail, youthful offenders and adult criminals are having trades of drugs, alcohol or etc. also.
So KVO center in Bolivia felt critical mind of those things, we formed cooperation with the city hall of Riberalta, the government of the city El Beni, and NGO of Italia to build confinement facility for adolescent offenders including programs like psychology consultation and rehabilitation,
Futhermore, we are having discussions about offering technical education of industry or agriculture to the adolescent offenders who has long jail term, so they can graduate the highschool. It can be the chance not only for each individual but also for the society. Because when they released from prison and out into society, they can get ability to shift the atmosphere in their society through play a leading role.
Our KVO center in Bolivia express our intention to the local community about the land of jungle that managed by KVO can be reverted to them if they want and if its technically available. That’s what we have to do.
