When you think of Bolivia, what comes to your mind first? Maybe the salt desert of Salar de Uyuni, the vally of the moon of La Paz, the lake Titikaka or etc. All of them are one of the most beautiful places in the world.

But on the northeastern area of Bolivia, there is an area named Riberalta of city El beni, the Brizil border where KVO welfare center and free jungle hospital located in.

Area Riberalta of the city El beni is located at near the jungle Amazon.

The ecosystem is destroyed by the world climate change and environmental pollution, and cause of that food, clothing, and shelter of natives, in particular native’s dietary life has been threatened. Eventually natives gave up the jungle and moved to the Riberalta. The population of Riveralta increased explosively but the government never expected before about these situation so they didn't have any provision about that, Therefore, many social issues are occurred.

In the jungle of Amazon, newborn babies, infants or love children who was born with little girl’s plotless and indiscriminate sex problem got killed or abandoned on the road without any measures. Infants and children abused physically, mentally and sexually by their parents who battering their child, taking a drug or commiting crime are increasing extremely high. Moreover, rape or sexual abuse from children’s real father or stepfather is frequent occurrence. So the government cannot handle social problems which is from primitive sex problem and the cost of resolving them. The problems Bolivia goverment’s has is not only those problems but also measures of supports about insufficient nutrition of natives remaining in jungle, especially young children, becomes an issue their society cannot ignore.

Thus, KVO preferentially built living facility for children abandoned by the family violence or the teenage single mother. We started work at 1988, so it’s going in for almost 30 years. On 2015, we had a support from Samsung Engineering and thanks for that, we could secure more children victims reported by local residents.

The plan to secure the children has increased from 18 to 26, for these reason 12 people struggled to heal the scars of the children with psychotherapy, feed, lodge and clothe.

When we first started infant home, it was funded by KVO. But now thanks to supports of the local social services department of the city El Beni, we can manage the infant home more stably.

As a result of KVO and the government of city El Beni struggled, children of family violence and minor sexual violence is reduced about 38% compared with the previous poll. City El Beni helped us with business advertising, strengthen checkpoint about trade of child, and etc, we could made this successfully.

If their real parents have a will to raise the kid and room for improvements, The children will go back to their home after proper treatment. But if they’re not, KVO will look for adoptive parents who can care the scars of child for our children.

The best way we wish for our children is not be abused. But if those things happened to the children, we will make our best try to heal the scars and to make them to live a better life.
