Last time we posted about reality of Ethiopia’s water supply plant.
In Ethiopia, they doesn't have enough public drinking water utilities futhermore they cannot use it whenever they want. They only can use 2 hours a day, Except that time the public drinking water utility is covered by barbed-wire fence. So they need to pay to use.
We realize the huge gap between Ethiopia and our daily life and that makes us so sad.
So KVO and Ecojun suffered under the perpetual necessity of public drinking water utility for the villagers of Bishoftu where KVO works. As a result, we decided to renovate the well which KVO has.
KVO center has the well which is used by more than 10 years. Its the only public drinking water utility around the town which anyone can use for free that the well is weaken and worn out especially the pump, handle and the water pipe.
Let’s see how it renovated.
It was so old well that need to buy various part of it. We couldn't find some components of the well so we made to order. For these reasons, we took a long time for preparation process to renovate the well.
Thanks to local technician, we could make and airlift components. so we changed those old components to new ones.
This is the pump of well which has repaired. Looks so clean, right?
And also, we repaired the ground with cement around the well to protect the ground not be sink or moody.
Renovate the well of KVO has been complete!
For after 10 and more years going to be okay with this renovation. With this renovation, we made a awning screens for convenience of villager and wide space around the well for children to take a shower or take a rest after their physical activities. Now they can take a rest and wait for the clean water under the bright sunshine of Ethiopia.
In Bishoftu, children are already using the renovated well to wash their hand before the meal and to take a shower after Teakwondo class or before going back to their home.
